Here is some advice on starting a Pilates program successfully:

Start with individual sessions. Our first individual session is only $45. Book it today and have a teacher evaluate your level, so you can be advised best on how to proceed.

Come in and try out one of our mat classes. Our first mat class is free. Please call or email us to schedule this offer.

Start with Mat and Reformer level 1 classes. Build up a strong foundation before advancing into higher levels.

We all know that starting a new workout routine can be difficult and sometimes even frustrating. Please be patient with yourself. It takes time to understand and integrate the complexity of the Pilates method.

What to expect when starting Pilates:


 
Starting with private sessions:

When you choose to work with a teacher in your start phase, you will learn about the fundamentals and the basic movements of the method and how the equipment works. You might start to gain an awareness of some habits of your body, repetitive patterns which led you into your current condition. Your teacher will use verbal and touch cues to help you.


Starting with a group class:

Your teacher will lead you verbally through the workout. He/she might use touch - with your permission - to correct wrong set-up or execution of your movement, so you can reprogram faulty muscle patterns and transform them into the right ones. All students work together on the same movements.


A combination private sessions and classes:

This is the best combination. You learn in the private session essential techniques for your body, which you can apply during your group practice.
